. I gave out a couple copies of my book at that party. The only reason I don’t step forward to organize such a party myself is I know the turnout will be (relatively) huge, and I have never done such a big event before…

Alright, a couple things.
I used to do artwork for a local promoter who would do a show — he would most likely organize a club or a local bar if we wanted to go that big. It would:
1) Either be free with a garaunteed amount of people, so they make their money back at the bar
2) pay at the door, or we pay him a bit up front — not what any of us would like:)
That’s if it’s going to be that huge (say over 200 people). So if we could rack that up, then that would be workable.
Otherwise, it can be in a low key bar/club that we would just ask to host the party, and tell them they’ll make a bit of cash off food and liquor.
Both of which are workable — the only problem would be if we had a low turnout — any idea what it’s been like in the past?
